Značka Melina pôsobí v neveľkom podtatranskom meste Svit v okrese Poprad. Svoju činnosť začala začiatkom roku 2005, kedy realizovala predaj svojich výrobkov výlučne na zahraničnom trhu v Maďarsku. Postupne rozšírila svoje pôsobenie aj na českom trhu. Na domácom potravinárskom trhu sa firma presadila až v roku 2006 predajom v obchodných reťazcoch.
Značka Melina obchoduje s kvalitnými a chutnými mliečnymi výrobkami ako sú maslá, tvrdé zrejúce syry, smotany, tvarohy. Menšiu časť tvorí bravčová masť a zmesné tukové nátierky. V poslednom období firma dynamicky rozšírila svoj sortiment o smotanové syry a mliečne dezerty – mliečne ryže, krupice a ovsené kaše.
Hlavným a výhradným producentom výrobkov je jeden z kľúčových výrobcov na poľskom trhu. Dôkazom vysokej kvality výrobkov je aj skutočnosť, že tento výrobca je držiteľom certifikátu IFS (International Food Standard) i BRC (Global Standard for Food Safety). Získanie takýchto certifikátov predstavuje náročný proces splnenia tých najvyšších nárokov z hľadiska kvality, bezpečnosti výrobkov a dodržiavania legislatívy.
Distribúciu výrobkov zabezpečujú zmluvní prepravcovia.
Spoločnosť vyvinula vlastnú obchodnú značku Melina až v roku 2012 a v súčasnosti sa snaží o jej zviditeľnenie na domácom trhu.
