Celé kurča si rozdelíme na viac častí, podľa počtu osôb, veľkosti kurčaťa a podobne. Časti kurčaťa si dokoreníme a opražíme v hrnci dozlata. Opečené mäso vyberieme z hrnca. V hrnci si následne opražíme dozlata cibuľu a pridáme mletú papriku, s ktorou si cibuľu ešte chvíľu popražíme. Cibuľu s paprikou zalejeme vodou a do hrnca pridáme opečené časti kurčaťa, bobkový list a nové korenie. Hrniec prikryjeme a perkelt necháme variť 30 – 45 minút.
Kým sa mäso uvarí úplne dojemna pripravíme si halušky. Cesto si pripravíme v mise z vajíčok, vody a postupne za stáleho miešania dosypávame múku. Cesto osolíme a pomocou haluškára si pripravíme halušky. Uvarené halušky scedíme a zmiešame s tvarohom a petržlenovou vňaťou.
Keď je už mäso v perkelte uvarené, pridáme smotanu a omáčku povaríme približne 5 minút. Omáčku nakoniec dochutíme soľou a korením.
